Muphry’s Law

A few of you spotted a spelling error in our last post. Embarrassingly ironic, especially as it was in the section on spelling.

However, we absolve all responsibility for this error. You see, it’s a universal phenomenon that’s completely out of our hands: Muphry’s Law.

‘Don’t you mean Murphy’s Law?’ I hear you cry.

Murphy’s Law (or Sod’s Law), in essence, states: “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”

However, Muphry‘s Law is thus: “If you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written.”

Then again, we were talking about continuous strings of careless errors and, as stated, the odd typo is a forgivable inevitability of human error. At least, that’s our excuse.
